There are currently two options available for web-based email at DTM:

• SquirrelMail
• IlohaMail
• New Web Mail Server*

There a many benefits to each of the choices and many similarities between them, however, if you maintain a large Inbox then you may find that IlohaMail performs significantly faster than SquirrelMail, though it does not have as many personal features.
As a side note, the IT department strongly urges you to keep your inbox down to a few megabytes in size, which will enhance the performance on all your email tools, not just webmail.

*The new web mail server is for those users whose accounts have been switched to this server. Please DO NOT use this link unless you have been informed to do so.

For those new to IlohaMail:

• Enter your email username/password as you would in SquirrelMail
• Choose Type IMAP or POP3 - if you don't know what IMAP is then you are using POP3
• Your first time login will send you to the Options page. Set the timezone to -5 which is EST. Set other options as you desire.
• Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Apply.
  Note that you can set Identity and Appearance as well, these items are to the upper left of this window. Appearance lets you choose different fonts and font sizes. Click Apply to save your options.
• Click on Inbox which appears on the upper left.
• That's it. Subsequent logins will take you directly to your Inbox.
