Turnbull’s Top ET Picks in the News
Tuesday, 21 February 2006

NAI Postdoctoral Associate Maggie Turnbull was featured in an article, “Top stars picked in alien search,” on the BBC’s Web site Sunday, Feb. 19. Turnbull’s work with the SETI (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) Institute is highlighted, and she discusses a “shortlist” of planets she believes most likely to contain life--the top pick being Beta CVn, a Sun-like star 26 light-years away from Earth in the constellation Canes Venatici. The news was also picked up in Sunday’s Washington Post and on CNN’s Web site later on Sunday, in an article titled “Astronomers get ET ‘top 10’ list.” To access the full BBC article, click here.
