Director Sean Solomon travels to Caltech on May 19 when he will receive a Distinguished Alumni Award, the most prestigious honor presented by the institution. Since the award’s inception in 1966, only 207 awards have been granted in recognition of graduates who have displayed “a particular achievement of noteworthy value, a series of such achievements, or a career of noteworthy accomplishment.”

Solomon received his B.S. at the institution in 1966, was recommended by a committee of faculty and alumni, and was confirmed by the institution’s Board of Trustees to receive the honor.
