Pluto Demoted: Boss Interviewed Print E-mail
Thursday, 24 August 2006

Astronomers at the IAU XXVI General Assembly in Prague declared today that Pluto is no longer a planet under historic new guidelines that downsize the solar system from nine planets to eight. The former ninth planet in the solar system is now considered a "dwarf planet." DTM’s Alan Boss commented on the decision today at 12:30 p.m. (EDT) on CNN. He will also appear on Canadian TV today at 3:00 (EDT), and tonight on PBS' Newshour with Jim Lehrer at 7 p.m. (EDT). For more information IAU's decision, see the story on CNN.com. For up-to-the-minute coverage see Google News.

Update: Last week's Newshour with Jim Lehrer, featuring Boss, is available as a video stream on WETA's Web site.
