The Geological Society of America (GSA) has announced that Kevin Burke, a long-time visiting investigator at DTM and GL who splits his time between BBR and the University of Texas, Houston, will be the recipient of the Structural Geology and Tectonics Division Career Contribution Award. This award is given annually “in recognition of outstanding contributions to the interdisciplinary field of structural geology and tectonics.” Burke will be presented with the award at the meeting of the Structural Geology and Tectonics division of the GSA at the organization’s annual meeting in Denver in November. In addition, the University of Houston, in collaboration with the Lunar Planetary Institute, will be hosting a conference in Burke’s honor in November of this year.
