Former Trustee William T. Golden Dies |

Former Carnegie Trustee William T. Golden passed away on 7 October at the age of 97. He served as secretary of the CIW Board of Trustees from 1971 to 1999 and chaired or participated in numerous committees. Prior to his involvement with the Carnegie Institution, Golden was appointed by President Truman as a special consultant to the director of the Bureau of the Budget in 1950, to review the “organization and conduct of scientific research and development activities” in the federal government.
