DTM’s Senior Instrument Maker and Shop Manager, Nelson McWhorter, passed away on Saturday at his home in Alexandria. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on 18 April at the Bush Hill Presbyterian Church in Alexandria.

A skilled instrument maker and key contributor to many of the department’s laboratory and field efforts, McWhorter had been a member of the DTM staff since 1985. He leaves an entire campus of friends and will be missed.
