SCS Reception: October 17, 2011
On October 17, 2011, DTM hosted a celebration of Sean C. Solomon's directorship. The reception featured a special performance by the Slack Quartet and MESSENGER postdoc Paul Byrne.

Broad Branch Fall Picnic Tailgate: October 29, 2011
October 29, 2011 brought DTM, GL, and P street staff together to celebrate fall. Festivities included a pumpkin carving contest, a BBQ lunch catered by Famous Dave's, and a sports theme tailgate.

Thanksgiving Lunch: November 18, 2011
DTM celebrated Thanksgiving by gathering for a pot luck style lunch. Each participant brought their favorite Thanksgiving dish to share with the campus. While the Americans at DTM are familiar with Thanksgiving traditions, our international visitors are not. They were able to experience an American tradition while also bringing part of their culture to the table in the form of food from around the world.

DTM Years of Service Recognition: December 1, 2011
DTM recognized five staff members for their years of service and commitment.
Broad Branch Holiday Party: December 17, 2011
The Annual Holiday Party was complete with a gift swap, food, drinks and special viewing of "Frosty the Snowman" for the entire campus. DTM, GL and their family and friends gathered in the Greenewalt Building for holiday festivities.

Postdoc Farewell Party: December 19, 2011
DTM celebrated the successful postdoctoral fellowships of Eloise Gaillou, Chin-Wu Chen, Daoyuan Sun, and Guillem Anglada. Each of these DTM Postdocs will be moving on to the next step of their career but will always be a part of the DTM family.
Sean C. Solomon Portrait Unveiling: February 2, 2012
On February 2, 2012, the portrait of Sean C. Solomon was unvelied at the Broad Branch Road campus. The portrait will be hung in the library among the portraits of former DTM directors. Friends, family, coworkers and the portrait artist, Maggie Siner, came out to celebrate the event.
