01-10-01: Larry standing by a huge pinnacle.

01-10-01: pinnacles and mountains.

01-10-01: A "Sun Dog," a ring around the Sun caused by ice crystals in cirrus clouds (sort of like a rainbow). I have
played with the contrast on this image to emphasize the ring. The Sun itself is behind the tent.

01-10-01: We found a lot of meteorites in an hourglass-shaped basin that Sara pointed out looks like
a tsunami about to wash over you. Here is a view from the bottom.

12-28-00: A view of the "tsunami" basin from the top.

01-12-01: A very interesting "specimen"

01-12-01: It snowed a lot on January 11, covering all the blue ice fields with about an
inch of snow. Meteorite Hills became a whole new world.

01-14-01: Group photo right before abandoning camp in Meteorite Hills. L-R: Pilot, John,
Jeff, Melissa, Sara, Larry and Bill. Airplane is a "Twin Otter"

01-14-01: We came out of the field in two stages: first a Twin-Otter airplane transferred all of us
and our stuff from Meteorite Hills to the Darwin glacier about a fifteen minute flight away. Sara
and I came back to McMurdo on the last Twin Otter flight. The others and most of the gear were picked
up by an LC-130 "Hercules" plane on January 15. This is a shot of the Darwin from the Twin Otter.

01-14-01: Larry at the Darwin camp.

01-14-01: View from the Twin Otter on the flight back to McMurdo.
