Alicia Case was awarded second place in the Nimrod International Journal’s 2009 Pablo Neruda Prize for Poetry judged by Marie Howe. In addition to receiving the award at the journal’s annual dinner on Friday, 23 October, she participated on a panel, along with other winners, judges, and distinguished writers, and co-taught a poetry workshop with James Ragan on “Lively and Living Poetry in the Global 21st Century” on Saturday, 24 October. Case’s prize-winning poetry appears in Nimrod’s Fall 2009 issue.
