Seismologist Paul Silver was invited to give the keynote lecture at the annual meeting of the German Geophysical Society in Berlin. His talk, entitled "Three Dimensional Flow in Subduction Zones" and delivered on March 10, focused on work he has been doing in collaboration with two research institutions in Germany, the Free University of Berlin and the GeoForschungsZentrum in Potsdam, on the study of the deep structure and dynamics of Andean South America.
