David James has been appointed Honorary Professor in the School of Geosciences, University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa. James has had a long relationship with this university in his work to investigate the formation and stabilization of archean cratons in the Kaapval Craton of South Africa as part of Carnegies NSF-funded Kaapvaal Craton Project. The appointment is in recognition of James association to international research programs and of [his] professional eminence.
