DTM's 2009 summer interns: Allison Wende and Rebecca Rattray | DTM’s 2009 summer interns, Rebecca Rattray of Vanderbilt University and Allison Wende of State University of New York at Oswego, presented their summer research projects in today’s Summer Scholars Research Symposium.
Rattray’s project, supervised by Alycia Weinberger, focused on distance and motion calculations of stars in the TW Hydrae association by studying images obtained with the Carnegie Astrometric Planet Search Camera (CAPSCam) on the 100-inch telescope at Las Campanas Observatory.
Wende spent the summer working with Larry Nittler on in situ characterization of primitive organic matter on a section of CR3 meteorite QUE 99177—research based on previous NanoSIMS studies conducted by former postdoctoral fellow Ann Nguyen and DTM colleagues.
