Machinist and instrument maker Richard Bartholomew passed away Sunday night after a long battle with leukemia. At the time of his passing, he was home and surrounded by family. Roy Dingus, who visited Richard and his family to present the three baskets of food and donations generously contributed by his campus colleagues last Friday afternoon, reports that Richard was awake then and deeply appreciative of his many friends at Carnegie.

A memorial service for Richard will be held on Monday, 30 November, at 11:00 a.m. at the Jefferson United Methodist Church located at 3882 Jefferson Pike (MD Route 180), Jefferson, MD 21755.

The BBR campus will hold an auction/ fundraiser for the Bartholomew family on Thursday, December 3, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. All are encouraged to bring monetary donations or any new and unwanted items for auction starting on November 30. All proceeds will be given to the Bartholomew family.
