Former postdoctoral fellow Teh-Ru (Alex) Song, now at the Institute for Research on Earth Evolution (IFREE) of the Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC), returned to DTM this week for a six-month visit. During his stay, Song will be conducting research on a range of topics, including the seismic structure of and nature of slow slip and tremor earthquake events within the subduction zones in southwestern Japan and Sumatra, the structure of the core-mantle boundary near the edge of the south African superplume, and geodetic measurements of ongoing deformation in Mexico.
