Alicia Case, administrative assistant at DTM since 2005, is leaving to embark on a new career path. Alicia arrived at DTM with a fresh Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Puget Sound. During her tenure in the department, she balanced her administrative and website responsibilities with continued education and creative writing. In 2009, Alicia attended the Juniper Summer Writing Institute at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. This May she graduated with an MFA in Poetry from American University. A poem of hers was published in the 120th Anniversary issue of Poet Lore, and she was awarded second place in the 2009 Nimrod Literary Awards: The Pablo Neruda Prize for Poetry for "Ascension" and other poems. This year, Alicia wrote a poetry collection review that appeared in World Literature Today. Although Alicia’s many contributions and dedication to the department will be missed, we wish her much success in her career as a poet, writer, and teacher.
