Eight DTM scientists attended the 2011 Goldschmidt Conference, held last week in Prague, “the city of a hundred spires,” in the Czech Republic.

With over 3700 submitted abstracts, this international meeting, sponsored by the Geochemical Society and the European Association of Geochemistry, was a major venue for reporting and discussing new work in geochemistry and cosmochemistry. Oral and poster sessions with contributions from DTM scientists treated the latest findings on the evolution of the continents and ocean basins and the early history of the Earth, Moon, and Solar System.  Attendees included staff scientists Rick Carlson and Steve Shirey, postdoctoral fellows Eloise Gaillou, Frances Jenner, Wendy Nelson, and Jonathan O’Neil, and geochemistry laboratory manager Mary Horan.
