I am aware of the fact that most of the photos are not of a professional standard, due to different reasons. Nonetheless, some might be of interest for certain commercial purposes, and in general their quality might be improved by technical means. For this reason, I do not want to put them into the public domain without limitations; please take note of the following
Disclaimer:
All photos in this directory and its subdirectories are copyrighted by Thomas Ruedas. You are allowed to download them for free for personal non-commercial use; however, if you want to show them in public, you have to mention the source. If you want to use them commercially or in a publication, you have to ask for permission, and use will usually not be free. This does also apply for images derived from the photos. Higher resolution, high-quality JPEGs are available on request.
Special rules for some collections:
- The US Botanic Garden gallery is affected by the Botanic Garden's photography policy which implies that those photos are for non-profit use only and cannot be used for commercial or promotional purposes.
- The US National Arboretum gallery is probably affected by the Arboretum's photography policy, which requires a fee for commercial photography. I offer these photos for private use and therefore did not pay any fee; hence I presume that any commercial use of these photos is not possible, at least not without the consent of the Arboretum and the payment of a fee to them.
