Research Interests:
My primary research interest lies in the dynamics of convection and melt formation in planetary mantles, at this time in particular in the Martian mantle. The focus of my work at DTM lies on numerical models of the evolution of the water content of the Martian mantle during the history of the planet after solidification, on its effect on dynamics, on the potential influence of different mineral phases on the distribution of water, and on the prediction of geophysical observables from the models. An overview and summary of two recently submitted manuscripts about this research can be seen here.
